What is your big take-away from The Kite Runner? In other words, what themes did you see emerging from this novel that might be relevant to your own life?

  1. One thing can change the rest of your life. One small thing can change everything.

  2. "Kite Runner" reminds me of my life by how when you make a mistake and you really want to make up for something, but you do not know how to make up for it.

  3. What I learned most from this book is taking the story and really looking in between the lines. I learned to read something and then look further into it and learn from it.

  4. I think the theme of the Kite Runner is to always stay true to your friends. I think that this is the theme because Amir always showed that he regreted betraying Hassan.

  5. I think one big thing that I took away from The Kite Runner is that we have to stand up when something wrong is happening. When/If we don't, we end up with the kind of guilt and regret that Amir dealt with for over 25 years.

  6. The general theme from the Kite Runner is that someone can be a hero even if they had made mistakes before. They can go back and redeem themselves. From this book, I discovered that you should stand up for what is right no matter the consequences because if you don't you'll wish you had.

  7. I took away that everyone makes mistakes and most people try and fix them the best they can. Most people feel sorry and also try and learn from these mistakes they've made. Also what everyone craves is to be loved. If by their parents or friends or anyone else.

  8. My big takeaway from the Kite Runner is that there is always redemption possible, even when a person's guilt outweighs their hope for redemption. There was redemption for Amir, even when all hope was lost for him and he felt that the guilt was taking over his life.

  9. If you have a chance, take it. If Amir had taken the chance to step in and help Hassan his life would of changed for the better

  10. From this novel I have gathered that you shouldn't take anything for granted because things can be gone before you have time to fix it. You should care for and make peace with everything while you can. I believe the theme of this novel is regrets. Throughout the book Amir has had regrets and guilt about multiple things and the theme regrets in my eyes fits this very well because of the thing demonstrated can and can not be fixed.

  11. My big take away from reading the Kite Runner is always forgive but never forget. No matter what life throws at you, things happen and there is no reason to blame other people. Everyone goes through hard times and you just have to forgive others. Never forget the past because you don't want to make the same mistakes over and over again.

  12. The thing that i took away from the Kite Runner is to accept everyone as a friend no matter how different they are from you. I also learned that is it good to make up for things you have done wrong by doing something nice for someone. The main theme i saw was one of repentance.

  13. My big take-away from The Kite Runner is that redemption is not as easily obtained as one might think. Amir's struggle with guilt throughout his life because of that one incident made a large impact.

  14. What I can take away from this book is that even if you screw up in the beginning you can always redeem yourself. Like in the book Amir did some bad things in the beginning but in the end he was finally good again. I can relate this to my life also.

  15. What I took away from The Kite Runner was that no matter how significant or insignificant that your are all people have somethingt that is wrong wiht them that they are afraid to show the world and the people that are closest to them.

  16. For me, the big take away factor is that being bold to stand up to issues is the key to having a satisfying life. Stand up to problems and face issues head on, so that you do not live with guilt or regret.

  17. After reading the Kite Runner, I took away self redemption and forgiveness. I learned that you can try to make things better after you do something wrong, but the way it is all going to be over is when you finally forgive yourself.

  18. I think the big lesson I can take away from this story is that one decision can shape the rest of your life, and that fact is uncontrollable. Whether you like what is happening or not, the decision will shape you and it is very hard to undo a bad decision if that is the circumstance.

  19. I felt like the big take-away that I got from The Kite Runner is that it's never too late to "atone for your sins". Meaning that if you don't like something that happened or something that you or someone else did you can almost always change it or how you feel about it.

  20. The theme of the book has taught me to not hold in secrets because secrets can lead to life long guilt. I noticed if Amir had told Hassan that he saw him get raped and if Amir even tried to help Hassan then Amir and Hassan still would have been friends and Amir wouldn't be living in a state of guilt.

  21. What i took away from the kit runner is forgiveness and redemption. Redemption, in the book he made things right and i think you can do that in real life too.

  22. I think that one big theme is to leave the guilt behind you and to stand up for people when you see something wrong. Also to stand up when you did something wrong and not keep it a secret.

  23. I think one thing that might be relevant to my life thats in the kite runner is maybe being like risky. Like your willing to risk things and i think Im doing that a little more this year.

  24. The theme is forgivness because in this book it is almost a fight for forgiveness and the struggle to be guilt free again.:<>

  25. The Kite Runner made me realize how important redemption is in one's life. People need to be able to forgive other's and themselves from mistakes made in the past. "There is a way to be good again", is a very symbolic quote because Amir has to be able to forgive himself and move on.

  26. Themes that emerged in the Kite Runner that might be relevant to my own life are that the choices that you make in the present can effect the rest of your life. In the book Amir made a bad decision and he had to carry a load of guilt for most of his life and was always afraid of telling people the truth. But eventually he learned that he shouldn't have kept everything bottled up inside.

  27. What I took away from The Kite Runner is that in life, people can have a friendship that has it's goods and bads. Those hard times in a friendship is what makes it stronger because you learn from your mistakes.

  28. One of the big themes of the book was heroes. I think the hero's in life are firemen, cops, and just people who help others. In the book i think the hero is Amir even though what he did to Hassan, he makes up for it later in the book.

  29. If there was anything that I took away from the book, the one thing that stood out most, was to stay close to the people you love. You never know if your friendship will start to fade away, until it's too late, and you'll end up regretting it.
